Based in Worthing, West Sussex and with over 20 years’ experience in the lightning protection industry, Altitude lightning protection was founded by Sean Rich offering competitive rates for lightning protection system testing, maintenance & installations using the best quality materials and installed to the highest standard.
Having worked as a steeplejack for several years working on church spires & industrial chimneys I took the natural progression into lightning protection and moved on to becoming an NVQ2 lightning protection engineer, fitting new systems to buildings and structures from new builds to existing buildings as well as testing existing systems and carrying out repairs as required, in compliance with BSEN 62305 and older standards BSCP 6651 and BSCP 326 for over 8 years.
I then moved in to a supervisory role on site passing the SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) overseeing other engineers works and ensuring site safety and installations were carried out to the correct standards in a safe manner. I then progressed into a management role and passed the SMSTS (Site management safety training scheme) and became contracts manager managing numerous contracts from start to completion for clients and meeting deadlines as required ensuring engineers attended site when requested. Monitoring and advising on health and safety, writing site specific risk assessments and ensuring all works where completed in a compliant and safe manner.
